Sediment Traps
Application:
Sediment traps are small containers placed in the water to collect particles falling toward the sea floor. The traps collect tiny sediment or larger accumulations called marine snow - made up of organic matter, dead sea creatures, tiny shells, dust and minerals.
General:
The fin and the pivot joints forces the array to be hold at the right angle to the current. The construction of the sediment trap array ensures a permanent vertical position of the sampling tubes during deployment. Manufactured from AISI 316 stainless steel and transparent acrylic tubes.
Available models:
The sediment trap can be configured with 1, 2, 3 or 4 sample tubes; diameter of 80/72 mm. Diameter of 110/104 mm is also available (series 28.300).
Minimizing corrosion:
All traps come with a zinc anode to minimize corrosion in salt water.
Easy to configure:
All parts are detachable, i.e. the main rack can be equipped with the amount of tubes you need for a specific project.
Dimensions:
Max. dimensions for the 4 traps model:
750 x 750 mm, height 450 mm.
